When my Facebook homepage changed last week at first I was optimistic. Amid status updates from friends calling for Facebook to revert to the old layout my status read: Getting to grips with the new homepage. I noticed something new in the sidebar of my Twitter homepage when I logged in this morning. At first I thought it was an interesting addition of a random definition from the Twitter dictionary. On closer inspection I discovered that it was a quick link of sorts to some of the extra functionality. So far there is just a link to the search feature and one to create a widget to embed your tweets on other sites. What next? Online Learning
I’m currently thinking about how my library can use web 2.0 tools more effectively to add value to the services we offer our users. So the appearance on my desk of the Business Education section of today’s Financial Times was very timely. In it there is a special report on online learning. Nothing that directly relates to libraries but an interesting read none the less.
